Personal Injury Solicitor - Brighton
Personal injury has become a more demanding practice area to work in. Reforms, fixed costs and tighter margins have pushed some firms to treat it as a volume exercise. The firms that have stayed committed to doing it properly tend to stand out, and they tend to be the ones where a PI solicitor can actually develop their career rather than just process files.RecQuest is working with a Brighton firm whose PI practice has real depth. They are looking for a Personal Injury Solicitor at the 1 to 4 years PQE level who has built their experience within PI specifically. This is not a role for someone moving across from clinical negligence looking for a lateral shift. The roleA dedicated personal injury caseload with proper variety across the work typeA team that takes PI seriously as a standalone practice area, not as an overflow functionBrighton base, with genuine flexibility considered for candidates commuting from London or elsewhere in the South EastWhat the firm is looking forQualified Solicitor with 1 to 4 years PQE in personal injuryPI background specifically, not clinical negligenceConfident managing your own files with appropriate senior oversightHappy to commit to Brighton as a baseWhy this is worth a conversationIf you have invested your early career in personal injury and you want a firm that has done the same, this is the conversation to have. Legal Assistant (Commercial Property) - Brighton
Commercial property teams move quickly. Completions, deadlines, client calls, fee earner diaries, documents that need to be right first time. Commercial Property Solicitor - Brighton
Brighton is not a secondary market. For commercial property solicitors who want genuine deal exposure without the commute into London, it has become one of the more interesting places to build a career on the south coast. A strong local economy, an active development pipeline, and a commercial client base that punches above its size make it a market worth taking seriously.RecQuest is working with an established Brighton firm to find a Commercial Property Solicitor at the 1 to 4 years PQE level. This is a team that handles real commercial property work, not a mixed residential practice with a commercial label bolted on.The roleA varied commercial property caseload across acquisitions, disposals, leases, licences and landlord and tenant mattersGenuine technical exposure from early on, with senior support available when the work calls for itA collaborative team environment within a firm that has built a strong commercial reputation locallyRoom to develop client relationships alongside your technical skillsWhat the firm is looking forQualified Solicitor with 1 to 4 years PQE in commercial propertySolid grounding in core commercial property transactionsStrong written communication and client care skillsBased locally to Brighton, or committed to the locationWhy this is worth a conversationCommercial property roles at this level are not equal. Some give you a caseload and leave you to it. Some keep you doing due diligence while the interesting work goes elsewhere. This firm sits in a different category. The work is varied, the team is active, and the Brighton market gives you client exposure that would take longer to reach in a larger city firm.If you are a Commercial Property Solicitor looking to build your career in a firm that takes the practice area seriously, contact Ben Holtom at RecQuest for a confidential discussion.

Non-Fee Earning Paralegal / Legal Support Assistant
Burley Geach's Residential Property team was nominated for Property Law Team of the Year at the Surrey Law Society Legal Awards 2025. The firm is CQS accredited and has been doing property work across Hampshire and Surrey for over a hundred years. This is the team you would be joining. The role is based in the Liphook office, working alongside an experienced conveyancing fee earner. It is a non-fee-earning support position, but you will be close to the full lifecycle of residential property matters: file opening, compliance, client and third party liaison, drafting, completions, post-completion, Land Registry applications and requisitions. You will also prepare financial documentation, review ledgers, take client instructions and manage diary. This is not an admin-only role and it is not a volume conveyancing desk. Burley Geach's support staff sit within their departments, not in a central pool, so you are part of the property team, not separate from it. The matters are varied: freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity, new builds and lease extensions. The role would suit someone already working in residential conveyancing support who wants more substance and closer involvement in live matters. It could also suit an experienced legal secretary looking to move into a paralegal title. There is a real precedent for that here: one member of the team started as a secretary, developed through paralegal responsibilities over two decades, and is now training to qualify as a Licensed Conveyancer while managing residential property work under supervision. You will need previous experience in a residential conveyancing department, a solid understanding of the property transaction process, confidence with time-sensitive work, and the ability to communicate clearly with clients, agents and lenders. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected. Please express your interest in this role below, with LawBoard.
Conveyancing Paralegal
Conveyancing Paralegal Lee-on-the-Solent, in-person. £28,000 to £35,000 depending on experience A support role in a CQS-accredited residential team, based at the firm's Lee office on the High Street. Wyeth & Paul is a boutique South Coast law firm with offices in Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent. Owner-run by its three Heads of Department. Lexcel, CQS, Lifetime Lawyers and STEP accredited within year one. You'd be joining the conveyancing team under Andrew Paul, Head of Conveyancing, working day-to-day as part of an experienced team. The work covers the full support span of a residential transaction: opening files, ID checks, search ordering, Land Registry filings, drafting standard correspondence, post-completion work, and helping fee-earners keep their files moving. In a smaller office you'd see more of the transaction than you would in a larger setting. This is for you if: - You have conveyancing experience as a paralegal or assistant, or strong administrative experience and a clear interest in property law - You're organised, careful with detail, and comfortable picking up the phone to clients, agents and lenders - You're looking for a place to develop, with a route towards more responsibility over time - You can commit to working from the Lee office full-time The honest part. This is a fully in-person role at the Lee-on-the-Solent office. It's a small team, so reliability and willingness to help across the workload matter as much as technical skill. Smaller offices teach faster. You see more of the transaction, more of the client, and more of the people running the file. If that suits, apply via the Wyeth & Paul page using your LawBoard profile.
Family Law Paralegal
Family Law Paralegal Gosport, in-person. £26,000 to £32,000 depending on experience A fantastic early-career role in a department the firm is actively rebuilding. The right person helps shape what family law looks like at Wyeth & Paul. Wyeth & Paul is a boutique South Coast law firm with offices in Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent. Owner-run by its three Heads of Department. Lexcel, CQS, Lifetime Lawyers and STEP accredited within year one. The role sits within the Crime and Civil Litigation department under Theresa Holden, with family law as the firm's stated growth area. This is rare: a paralegal joining at the point where there's actual room to build a practice rather than slot into someone else's. The work covers divorce and separation, financial matters, and child arrangements, with the scope to develop your remit over time as the department grows. You'd be supported by Theresa, with assistant cover from the wider litigation team. This is for you if: - You have meaningful family law experience as a paralegal, ideally with exposure to divorce, financial remedy and children matters - You want to take ownership of files appropriate to your level rather than process work - You're interested in being part of how a department gets built, not just staffed - You're settled on the South Coast and looking for somewhere to grow into The honest part. This is a fully in-person role at the Gosport office. The department is being built, which means real opportunity but also real expectation that you'll take initiative. Most paralegal roles ask you to sit inside an established department and learn its rhythm. This one asks you to help set the rhythm. The full picture of the firm and the role sits on the Wyeth & Paul page, and you can apply with your LawBoard profile.
Litigation Lawyer, 3+ PQE
Litigation Lawyer, 3+ PQE. Gosport, in-person £55,000 to £62,000 depending on experience A hybrid civil litigation role with contested wills and probate exposure, sitting alongside the Head of Crime and Civil Litigation. Wyeth & Paul is a boutique South Coast law firm with offices in Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent. Owner-run by its three Heads of Department that earned Lexcel, CQS, Lifetime Lawyers and STEP accredited within year one. You'd report to Theresa Holden, the firm's Head of Crime and Civil Litigation. The work is mixed and unusual for a firm this size. Civil litigation across small claims, landlord and tenant disputes, contractual disagreements, with regular touch-points into contested probate work alongside Roz Wyeth's department. Most firms ask you to pick a lane. Here you'd genuinely use both sides of your experience. This is for you if: - You have 3+ years PQE in civil litigation as a Solicitor or CILEX - You have working knowledge of contested wills or contentious probate (or want to develop it properly) - You're happy carrying your own caseload and being the person clients call back - You like variety more than you like specialisation The honest part. This is a fully in-person role at the Gosport office. Court attendance and client meetings are part of the work. This is a role most boutique firms can't offer because they don't have the contested probate work to support it. Wyeth & Paul does. You can apply to this role at Wyeth & Paul with your LawBoard profile.
