Head of Private Client

RecQuest is working on behalf of an ambitious and growing law firm in Winchester seeking a Head of Private Client to lead and develop their private client offering.

This is a senior appointment for an experienced solicitor or chartered legal executive who wants to shape a department, not just run files. The firm offers flexible and remote working.

What you will be doing:

• Leading the private client department, setting strategy and driving growth

• Managing a personal caseload of complex wills, trusts, tax planning, estate administration and lasting powers of attorney

• Supervising and mentoring junior fee earners and support staff

• Building referral relationships and contributing to the firm's business development

• Ensuring the department meets compliance, quality and profitability standards

What they are looking for:

• A qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with at least 5 years' PQE in private client work

• STEP membership or TEP qualification would be highly valued

• Proven experience of supervising others and managing a team

• Strong technical ability across wills, trusts, tax and estate administration

• A commercially aware approach with the confidence to develop client relationships
