About this role

Wickham | Full Time | Office Based

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant with hands on experience in residential conveyancing new builds to join a well established, highly regarded law firm based in Wickham.

This role is ideally suited to someone who already appreciates that new build transactions are a different discipline to standard conveyancing - involving tight developer deadlines, complex documentation, and a fast paced workflow.

Why This Role Stands Out

New build work requires precision, organisation, and confidence. This position offers the chance to become a key part of a supportive property team where your prior experience will be genuinely valued rather than trained from scratch.

You will be involved in transactions where attention to detail and proactive communication are critical.

The Type of Experience That Fits Well

This role will strongly appeal to candidates who have previously worked on:

• New build plot purchases
• Developer driven deadlines and exchanges
• Reviewing contract packs and title documents
• Handling enquiries specific to new build matters
• Working with Help to Buy, incentives, and warranties
• Coordinating completions linked to build schedules

If you have worked in a conveyancing environment but specifically handled new builds, your experience will be directly relevant here.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting fee earners on new build transactions from instruction through to completion
• Liaising with developers, buyers, lenders, and third parties
• Managing files, documentation, and milestone deadlines
• Preparing reports and assisting with exchange and completion processes
• Ensuring compliance and procedural accuracy

What Matters Most

The firm is keen to speak with individuals who:

• Have between 1 & 5 years’ experience within residential conveyancing
• Have genuine exposure to new build transactions (essential)
• Are organised, methodical, and detail focussed
• Can work comfortably in a deadline driven environment
• Communicate clearly and professionally

The Environment

You will be joining a collaborative, professional team with a steady flow of quality work. The office location offers a pleasant working setting away from the intensity of larger city firms.
